My First Post... Hello!

You can't stay in your corner of the Forest waiting for others to come to you.
You have to go to them sometimes.
Winnie The Pooh

I am so happy to be here in blogland.
I have had some help getting here and I want to thank
My Desert Cottage for designing my blog. She did an awesome job and understood exactly how I wanted it to look.
Thanks Karen!

I have had an online presence for years with my mother Rebecca Ersfeld on ebay as Simply Posh and on our website SimplyPoshDesigns.com
I also was a partner with my mom in the shop Vintage Living which is now closed. We have been doing shows together this past year. You might be familiar with her blog
A RE-Purposed Life. I am now selling on etsy also, LeFadedFleur.
I enjoy photography and design and with the pushing encouragement of my mother, I thought this would be fun...
so here I am.  I hope to visit with all of you and hopefully you will enjoy my perspective in blogland.
I spend much of my time in my studio working with vintage fabrics. Which you can see here... my mom did a post on it when she was visiting me this spring.
I have one helper... he is my quality controller.
He is my only child and really doesn't do much except search for the perfect stick.

Cash is named after Johnny Cash...

I am so glad to be here for the Holiday Season!
I will be showing some of my handmades and Holiday decorating.
Here in the Pacific Northwest it is a beautiful time of year and  hopefully  you will enjoy it with me.
Right now I am working on pillows made with antique French grainery sack material.

This pillow is made of cream wool, linen and a applied glittered crown.

I have also made some bottle brush trees. These are so much fun.
Simply take vintage white trees or new green trees and bleach them by dipping them into a cup of bleach until desired color. I like to brush white glue on the tips of the bristles and roll them into silver glitter. If you mix the sterling silver glitter and regular glitter it will make the silver glitter go farther and yet still give that nice tarnished look we all love. And embellish with glass ornaments.
I glued these trees into some of my favorite tarnished silver sugar and creamers and then embellished them with German metal garland and a rhinestone button.

You will be able to find most of these items that I am making in my etsy store.
I hope all of you enjoy yourselves this week and don't work too hard getting ready for Thanksgiving.

I am thankful to be here this Thanksgiving week and wish all of you a Blessed Thanksgiving.
